The official body recognised by the government to approve biomass and solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services including the registration of competant installers and servicing businesses.
They are currently the only body able to certify a domestic solid fuel installation. If your stove is installed by a fitter not registered with Hetas you will need to have your local building control inspector certify your installation as stated in Document J of the Building regulations (see below). To speak to a building control officer phone the switchboard of your local council and ask for Building Control, there is usually a fee for this service.
To find a Hetas installer you will need to enter the Hetas site, click on 'find installer' and enter a postcode. The installers that we use work for Decorative Heating (website above), they are Hetas registered. The company is based in Cardiff so you will need to enter their postcode CF15 7LF but they regularly cover this area.
